  • 26 operating theatres
  • 7 endoscopy suites, including bronchoscopy and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP)
  • 2 interventional radiology suites
  • Coronary catheter labs
  • Acute and Chronic pain clinics.

The department has a number of subspecialty anaesthetic fellowship positions available each year which are open to local and international candidates at the end of their training program. These positions offer excellent opportunities for fellows to develop and refine skills in preparation for their consultant careers.

Fellows have access to:

  • flexible and fair rostering
  • options of part-time positions
  • generous professional development and annual leave allocation
  • competitive salary packaging.

Remuneration is as per WA Health salary scale – WA Health System – Medical Practitioners – AMA Industrial Agreement 2022 (PDF 894KB)

Specialty fellowships are offered in 12-month or 6-month terms linked to 6-month General Fellowships.

Fellows are very well supported with:

  • consultant supervision
  • protected weekly registrar teaching program
  • access to in-house exam preparatory courses
  • weekly departmental meetings
  • regular morbidity and mortality meetings
  • a departmental social calendar.

We promote trainee wellbeing and endeavour to support fellows with their individual career development needs.

Recruitment for these roles occurs yearly via the MedCareersWA (external site). The formal recruitment pool opens approximately March/April each year, with rotational terms commencing in February and August. Roles may also become available throughout the year – for further information and enquiries please email our fellowship recruitment team.
