State Adult Burns Service

State Adult Burns Service

The State Adult Burns Service provides comprehensive burns care and support to patients aged 16 years and older from across Western Australia.

Care for patients aged under 16 years is provided by the Burns Service at Perth Children’s Hospital (external site).

Our services

Our service focuses on providing patients a seamless transition from hospital to their homes, resulting in a shorter hospital stay and better patient outcomes.

Each year we care for an anticipated 490 inpatients and 5,000 outpatients through programs and clinics including:

  • a 10-bed specialist burns area
  • research facilities and access to new treatment techniques such as early skin grafting, new wound treatment products and specialised therapy
  • treatment clinics
  • rehabilitation services
  • telehealth services for burns consultation and education to rural and remote areas
  • increased surge capacity for use in disaster or overflow situations.

Improved infection control is achieved through single rooms with an ensuite and custom-designed air filtration system facilities for minor surgical and non-surgical procedures.

Outpatient clinics

Our service operates both appointment only and walk-in outpatient clinics

Our appointment only outpatient clinic operates from 7:00am to 2:30pm, Monday to Friday. Phone 6152 0342 for further information.

The walk-in outpatient clinic manages new referrals for non-urgent burns care and operates from 10:00am to 11:00am Monday to Friday.
