Ophthalmology

Ophthalmology

Fremantle Hospital Ophthalmology Department is the referral centre for all adult ophthalmic (eye) conditions in the South Metropolitan Health Service (SMHS) catchment.

Our goal is to provide a high quality, patient-centred ophthalmic service with timely assessment and management of eye conditions in partnership with community health professionals.

Daily general and sub-specialty clinics include:

  • corneal
  • glaucoma
  • general and cataract
  • injection clinic
  • laser clinic
  • neuro-ophthalmology
  • oculoplastic
  • ocular motility
  • optometrist
  • orthoptist
  • retinal
  • uveitis.

How to access our service

If you have an eye problem, please see your General Practitioner (GP) or an optometrist first for review. If necessary, they will then refer you to our service.

If you have an emergency involving your eye, please go to your nearest emergency department (Healthy WA) for assessment.

8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday to Thursday

8:00am to 12:00pm, Fridays
