Addiction Prevention Treatment Service

Addiction Prevention Treatment Service

The Addiction Prevention Treatment Service Outpatient Clinic provides consultation, assessment and care for patients with emerging or dependent alcohol and other drug (AOD), behavioural harm and/or addiction.

This outpatient service is available to Fiona Stanley Fremantle Hospital Group patients 16 and over who are not actively receiving services from a community or private AOD service.

Services provided through its AOD and Behavioural Addiction Outpatient Clinic include:

  • assessment and treatment planning
  • education around the effects of alcohol and drugs
  • identifying triggers to substance/gaming/gambling use
  • learning coping skills to assist with the causes of substance use
  • relapse prevention strategies
  • pharmacotherapy (anticraving medication, opiate substitution therapy)
  • withdrawal services
  • case management.

The clinic is serviced by a team of qualified and experienced professionals and include:

  • consultant addiction psychiatrist
  • consultant addiction specialist
  • clinical nurse specialist
  • clinical nurses
  • clinical psychologist
  • social worker
  • peer support workers.

Confidentiality

Confidentiality means keeping your personal information private and only sharing this information with your consent. We will discuss who you consent to share information with at your first appointment.

We have a duty of care to ensure your personal safety and the safety of others. We will only share information without your consent if there is a clear possibility of significant harm to yourself or others, including overdose through substance use not doing so places someone at risk.
