Medihotel (Fiona Stanley Hospital)

Medihotel (Fiona Stanley Hospital)

Based adjacent to Fiona Stanley Hospital, the Medihotel offers a range of nursing and medical led services to patients aged 18 years and older, including support for patients who no longer require tertiary level care.

The Medihotel provides additional hospital capacity and enables innovative service delivery 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Medihotel wards

The Medihotel currently has two wards on level 6 and 7.

Ward M6

This ward is available to General Medicine patients from Fiona Stanley Hospital who no longer require tertiary level care but require on-going treatment prior to discharge.

This can also include palliative patients.

Ward M7

This ward is used for patients from multiple specialties across Fiona Stanley Hospital, including, but not limited to:

  • patients admitted the day before surgery
  • stable patients from rural and remote areas
  • patients admitted after acute treatment, such as chemotherapy
  • patients receiving routine surgeries.

Ward M8

This ward is utilised by patients who no longer require acute medical or rehabilitative care in hospital and are awaiting placement in either respite, transitional care or residential care.

Eligible patients must be over the age of 65 years, or over the age of 45 years for Indigenous Australians.

Patients are transferred to this ward from North Metropolitan Health Service (external site) and East Metropolitan Health Service (external site).

The Medihotel is located in the Aegis Health building (Tower D) at 5 Bedbrook Row, Murdoch, WA, 6150, across from Fiona Stanley Hospital.
