Audiology

Audiology services across Fiona Stanley Fremantle Hospitals Group are committed to maximising hearing health outcomes for adults and children

Our experienced and dedicated audiologists identify, assess and provide rehabilitation services for hearing, dizziness and vertigo, and other ear-related conditions. These services include:

  • hearing implant assessment, including cochlear, middle ear and bone conduction implants
  • acute and ongoing hearing rehabilitation for cochlear, middle ear and bone conduction implants
  • paediatric behavioural hearing assessment
  • objective/electrophysiological hearing assessment for children and adults
  • comprehensive balance assessment for children and adults
  • close monitoring hearing loss, balance disturbance and tinnitus that can result from taking specific medications (ototoxic monitoring)
  • intraoperative hearing monitoring.

Our audiologists also participate in multidisciplinary teams throughout the hospital, including working closely with ear, nose and throat (ENT) specialists.

The Audiology department at Fiona Stanley Hospital is the hub for the statewide adult audiology and provides integrated services at Fremantle Hospital, Royal Perth Hospital and Sir Charles Gardiner Hospital.
