Mother and Baby Mental Health Unit referrals

The Mother and Baby Unit (MBU) is an eight-bed inpatient unit located in the Fiona Stanley Hospital Mental Health Unit.

The unit provides treatment to women receiving care at Fiona Stanley Hospital for mental health issues such as depression, anxiety or psychosis in late pregnancy and during the postnatal period.

Referrals are accepted from any medical practitioner or healthcare professional.

Medical and healthcare professionals can phone to discuss referral with the Clinical Nurse Specialist prior to completing the referral form (Word 49KB).

The referring health professional will complete the referral form and email to the MBU. Each referral is discussed with the multi-disciplinary team, and the referrer will be contacted to discuss the outcome.
