Using occupational therapy equipment safely
The following videos have been created to support patients receiving occupational therapy services from Fiona Stanley Fremantle Hospitals Group.
If your occupational therapist has prescribed any of the following equipment for your use, these videos will show you how to use and care for the equipment while it is on loan to you.
Commode types and features
A commode chair combines the functionality of both a shower chair and toilet seat.
It helps people with mobility problems reduce the number of transfers required to safely perform personal care tasks such as showering or toileting. This also reduces the risk of slips and falls.
Commode safety
Learn about safety checks before transferring onto a commode, and how to keep patients and carers as safe as possible when transferring.
