How we care for you

Connected care, strong relationship
At Boodjari Bidi, you will meet with the same small team of midwives and Aboriginal health practitioners (AHPs). This helps builds trusting relationships that enhance support, respect and care during your visits.

Culturally safe and family focused
Our care honours your culture, family, and community, prioritising your story, beliefs and choices throughout your pregnancy, birth and beyond.

Our service

Walking together in care

Our Boodjari Bidi team provides holistic, safe and culturally connected care for Aboriginal women and babies.

Our team provides the following support to deliver a culturally safe journey.

  • Continuity of care, with the same small team of midwives and Aboriginal health practitioners at every appointment.
  • Our Aboriginal health practitioners can support you throughout your pregnancy and birth and care for you with a midwife in pregnancy, during birth and the postnatal period at Fiona Stanley Hospital. This may include during blood tests and ultrasound scans if required.
  • We provide snacks for you to enjoy when attending appointments.
  • As your due date nears, we will supply a toiletry bag to assist with your preparations.
  • After your baby’s birth, you will receive a baby bag of essential items for newborn babies.
  • Education to help you become a mum.
