Dietetics

Dietetics

Dietitians at Fiona Stanley and Fremantle hospitals aim to optimise our patients’ health, nutritional status and quality of life through:

  • undertaking thorough nutritional assessments
  • prescribing suitable diets and nutritional supports
  • providing counselling and education
  • providing ongoing monitoring for those at risk.

We provide services to both inpatients and outpatients. Dietitians are also part of the Paediatric Feeding team.

Home enteral nutrition

Our department provides home enteral nutrition (HEN) to eligible patients at Fiona Stanley and Fremantle hospitals. To place your next order please phone our HEN service on 6152 6038.

How to access dietetics services

Patients of either Fiona Stanley or Fremantle hospital may be able to access dietetics services based on availability and eligibility criteria on referral from a member of the hospital's healthcare team.

Please note the service does not accept GPs or external referrals.

If you live at home in the community and do not attend medical appointments at Fiona Stanley or Fremantle hospitals, please talk to your GP about your health concerns. Your GP may refer to you a private dietitian. Please note Medicare rebates are available for patients with chronic conditions and complex care needs.
