Day Surgery Unit (Fiona Stanley Hospital)

Day Surgery Unit (Fiona Stanley Hospital)

The Day Surgery Unit at Fiona Stanley Hospital is located on Level 1 of the main hospital building.

Day of Surgery Admission

Day of Surgery Admission (DOSA) is an admission area for elective and some emergency patients requiring surgery. It consists of a reception area, waiting room and six admission offices.

Opening hours
6:00am to 2:30pm Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays)
7:00am to 12:00pm Saturday and Sunday.


Short Stay Unit

The Short Stay Unit (SSU) is a mixed specialty surgical ward offering 30 inpatient beds consisting of:

  • 25 open bays with shared bathroom facilities
  • 5 single rooms.

Opening hours
24 hours a day, 7 days a week.


Day Surgery Unit

The Day Surgery Unit (DSU) cares for elective and emergency patients who may be discharged on the same day after theatre, endoscopy and medical imaging procedures. The unit consists of 20 open bays with shared bathroom facilities.
