Free community influenza vaccinations now available at Fiona Stanley Hospital
As we head into the winter months and prepare for the annual surge in respiratory illness and hospital demand, vaccinations for children, staff and the community remain one of our best lines of defence.
For the first time ever, Fiona Stanley Hospital is proud to offer a free flu immunisation program for the community that spans both adults and children.
This week we began rolling out the new needle‑free FluMist influenza vaccine for children in inpatient and outpatient areas at FSH, via a roving trolley. Offering protection which is needle free, the intranasal spray is a free, safe and effective alternative to guard children against influenza A and B, without the distress of a needle. From 4 May, our broader community vaccination campaign will roll-out, with anyone aged between 12 to 64 years able to access their vaccination onsite.
We all need to play our part to keep children, our patients, colleagues and community safe this winter, and we are proud to be able to offer influenza vaccines to protect everyone, at every age, every winter.
Visit our friendly Community Vaccination Clinic between 8am to 4pm, Monday to Friday on the main concourse near the outpatient clinic entrance. See the hospital map (PDF1MB).
