Patient entertainment at Fiona Stanley Hospital

The patient entertainment system (PES) at Fiona Stanley Hospital is a bedside device you can use to:

  • order meals
  • use telephone services – a unique phone number will be assigned to your PES card and this number will stay the same even if you change rooms
  • use radio, television and internet, including purchasing box office movies and games
  • purchase additional wireless internet for personal devices.

You will need a PES card and PIN code to us the system – these will be given to you by the ward clerk when you are admitted.

To access the system:

  • ensure your PES card is in the back of the phone handset
  • press the Power button
  • enter your PIN code – the home screen will appear so you can now access the services.

For information on fees and terms and conditions of use, press the onscreen Help button. Staff and volunteers can also help you use your system.

At times your treating team may request to interrupt while you are using the system to provide your care. You can return to using the system when your treating team has finished.

Managing your account

You or your visitors can add money to the card on the PES kiosks available throughout the hospital or directly through the system.

To activate your account, register your email address using the patient entertainment portal (external site) on your PES unit.

You can then:

  • add funds
  • review your details
  • view previous transactions
  • provide family or carers access to your account so they can add funds over the internet).

Once you have added funds to your PES account, you can purchase entertainment services such as movies and high-speed internet.

Refunds

If you have more than $5 in your account and would like this refunded, you can either:

  • ask for a copy of the PES refund form from the main hospital or State Rehabilitation Service reception, complete the form and hand it back to the same reception
  • download the PES refund form (Word 25KB) or PDF (222KB) when you get home and mail the form to the address details provided on the form. To protect your privacy, please do not scan and email the form.
