Clinical Immunology referrals

Patients can be referred to the Clinical Immunology service through two pathways.

Standard referral pathway

Routine referrals from general practitioners (GPs) and private specialists are to be sent directly to the Central Referral Service (external site) on fax number 1300 365 056.

Virtual Immunology Clinic for General Practice referral pathway

Our Virtual Immunology Clinic for General Practice (VIC-GP) supports general practitioners to manage patient care in real time.

GPs must first register and sign in to the SMHS Online Services Portal (external site) before they can directly refer patients to VIC-GP.

Once registered, GPs can set up a virtual clinic appointment through a live video consult with the rostered immunology consultant within minutes. The clinic operates from 9:00am – 5:00pm, Monday to Friday.
